After a week 1 victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars that saw the Colts barely squeak by with a 14-12 win, the team faces what should be a tougher opponent in Jacksonville during week 2 on the national stage.

The team ended up narrowly defeating the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars in week one. They barely got away with the victory against the Jags, winning it 14-12. In week 2, they have a much more difficult match up.

The Colts are favored to win this game by about 3 points, but odds aside, there are some minor concerns about the state of the Colts team entering this game.

While Peyton Manning looked to show his best stuff and Reggie Wayne received for over 160 yards in game 1, the bigger issue at stake is the absence of Anthony Gonzalez. With Marvin Harrison no longer an option for Peyton, the Colts will hurt out wide with Gonzalez injured on the sideline.

While Manning is one of the best QB’s in the league, there still needs to be a balance between running and throwing the ball. Peyton Manning is averaging over 300 yards passing per game, if this continues expect the Colts to be playing deep in January.

The Indianapolis Colts must find a way to deep with the absence of Anthony Gonzalez. Normally a team with plenty of receiving options, this isn’t the case this year. Peyton Manning is the type of QB to turn a no-name WR, into a stud.

At running back, the team must still address worries about Joseph Addai and his ability to excel at the position. Addai was a top running back during the 2007 NFL season, but his numbers fell off drastically in 2008.

The Monday night game at Miami is a must win for the Indianapolis Colts. Expect Manning to rise to the occasion, that’s usually what he does!
